Record meaningful browser actions
LocalGuide captures supported clicks, choices, form changes, submissions, and navigation. It ignores raw typed values and generates editable step text.
Record a browser workflow once. Turn it into a clear, editable guide without uploading the screenshots to us.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
LocalGuide captures supported clicks, choices, form changes, submissions, and navigation. It ignores raw typed values and generates editable step text.
Text inputs, textareas, editable text regions, and visible iframe content are permanently covered before screenshots enter extension storage. Add, resize, move, blur, or remove additional manual masks in the editor.
Produce standalone HTML, Markdown with image assets, rich text, or a print-ready PDF path. Exports remain usable without a LocalGuide account.
PLANNED RELEASE
Up to three stored guides and 15 steps per guide, with standalone HTML export and Appletide attribution.
Up to 100 steps per guide, unlimited local guides, Markdown ZIP, rich-text copy, PDF printing, and attribution-free output.
English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, German, and French.
Planned requirement: Chrome 116 or later. The one-time license includes LocalGuide 1.x updates; a future major version is not promised as part of this purchase. Refund requests are accepted within 14 days under the Appletide refund policy. LocalGuide requests access only for sites you choose to record. It cannot record Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, browser dialogs, or some specialized editors; version 1.0 masks visible iframes and does not record actions inside them. Other visible page content may still contain private information, so review every screenshot before sharing. The name, price, and release offer remain subject to final store and trademark review.
QUESTIONS
No. The current release architecture processes and stores guide screenshots locally in the extension. License activation sends license data, a product identifier, and a random installation identifier, not guide content.
No automated detector can promise that. LocalGuide excludes typed field values from its event data and permanently masks text-entry and iframe regions before image persistence. Other page content may still contain private information, so inspect the result and add manual masks before sharing. Replace a screenshot if a permanent automatic mask covered the wrong area.
Open the LocalGuide help center for recording, permissions, privacy review, exports, backups, and license troubleshooting in all eight launch languages.
Recording pauses. Open LocalGuide from the Chrome toolbar, explicitly authorize the new site, and continue; LocalGuide does not silently expand its website access.
No live chat is planned. Email support at [email protected] covers installation, compatibility, licenses, payments, refunds, and backup recovery, normally within two business days.
